GRIEF & LOSS: A PERSONAL JOURNAL ENTRY IN REMEMBERENCE OF MY GRANDMA

Grief and Loss Journal Entry: A Journal written by Elizabeth Sanchez prompted by a page from The Guided Grief Journal by Yolanda Ramos (@theclinicalcomadre)

As I reflect on the beautiful memories I shared with my beloved grandma, one particular memory stands out, her ability to fill my heart with warmth and love. With every word, action, and wise lesson, she became my mentor and my safe place. Her memory brings tears to my eyes, yet a smile to my face.

Grandma,

Do you remember the countless mornings we spent together, sipping on our beloved cafecito? Oh, how I miss those moments dearly. Today, as I prepare my own cup of coffee, I can't help but feel your presence beside me.

Grandma, you always preferred your coffee black, but every now and then, you would surprise me by adding a splash of oatmilk. Those moments were magical, as they symbolized your willingness to embrace change and try new things.

Today, as I take a sip of my cafecito, I can't help but imagine you sitting across from me, sharing stories and laughter. The aroma of the coffee fills the air, and for a brief moment, it feels like you're still here, guiding me through life's ups and downs.

Processing grief and loss is never easy, but finding solace in the little things, like a cup of coffee, can bring comfort to a heavy heart. Grandma, I miss you more than words can express, but I find solace in knowing that your love and memories will forever live on within me.

Te Quero Mucho,

Elizabeth
