EMDR & BILATERAL SIMULATION

Bilateral Stimulation (BLS) is the stimulation of both sides of the brain. In EMDR  Therapy we use this method to assist the client in processing traumatic memories.  BLS is used to activates the brain and is similar to “Rapid Eye Movement”(REM)  sleep. The three most common types of BLS are tapping, auditory, and eye movements.

Some other examples are walking, dance, rocking back and forth, playing drums,  and many many more.
